Kathmandu: The man who received the pig heart transplant died two months later.
Doctors at the University of Maryland Medical Center in David Bennett, 57, of Baltimore, USA, successfully transplanted a pig’s heart on January 7.
The success of the pig heart transplant in humans was considered a great success in the medical field.
David Bennett died on March 8, the hospital said.
A statement from the hospital said, “His condition has been deteriorating for some time now. But he also talked to his family members till the last hour. Her treatment was continued despite knowing that she would not recover. ‘
“He was a brave and great patient and he led the team of heart transplant doctors who fought to the last,” said Surgeon Bart Griffith.
