Kathmandu. After the MCC agreement was passed by the parliament, a big landslide is going to take place in the CPN-Maoist center. Chairman of the UCPN (M) Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda said that the MCC agreement was ratified by a one-sided decision.
Leaders and cadres of the Maoist center have become dissatisfied after the party decided to pass the MCC by announcing the MCC. He has made a strategy of criticizing the leadership in the party meeting and leaving the party at any time if necessary. Contrary to the decision of the party’s eighth general convention, Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ made an exclusive decision and made an explanatory announcement saying that they had agreed in the alliance to pass the MCC.
Though the party general convention decided to pass the MCC only by amending it, the leaders are protesting saying that the MCC has been passed in the name of explanatory declaration.
UCPN (Maoist) central leader Lilamani Pokharel said that the issue of MCC would be discussed in a systematic manner at the meeting of the Central Committee.
Stating that the issue of MCC will be raised in the forthcoming Central Committee meeting, he accused the party of taking a decision against the mandate of the General Convention.
Stating that the MCC can be passed only after the amendment is passed by the General Convention, Pokharel said, “It is not an amendment that is passed in an explanatory manner.” It has no value. That is zero value. ‘
Stating that the United States has not signed the Vienna Convention, Pokhrel said that passing the MCC would not make sense.
“As soon as the MCC is passed in an explanatory manner, the United States will draw our attention to it,” Pokhrel said.
Some cadres have started expressing their views on social media that they have left the party as the Maoists have agreed to pass the MCC. Even the people’s representatives have resigned from the CPN-Maoist center saying that the party has helped in ratifying the MCC agreement.
It is understood that Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Giriraj Mani Pokhrel, Leela Mani Pokhrel and Dev Gurung have formed a big team for the division of the Maoist center.
