Kathmandu: The Phatakshila Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation Project have ensured a regular drinking water supply to 300 households in Phatakshila in Melamchi Municipality-13.
Residents of Phatakshila, who have been facing drinking water problems for years, are happy with the regular supply of water at their doorstep. The municipality invested Rs. 20 million to make the project successful.
Mayor Dambar Aryal expressed happiness over the completion of the largest drinking water project in the municipality and urged the locals to conserve water tanks and taps.
Chief Administrative Officer of the municipality Amrit Kumar Dhital said that the money raised from the users will be used to maintain the project.
Meanwhile, drinking water has been provided to 195 households of Bhimtar in Indravati Rural municipality-12 who are in dire need of drinking water. Locals have benefited from the construction of an 82 cubic meter tank for Rs. 3.7 million.
Rural Municipality Chair Bansalal Tamang said that the locals have been able to drink clean and pure water and there is no more shortage of drinking water in the area.
